The Nature Conservancy

I haven't posted in a very long time, but I want to get better at it. This semester I am taking an intermediate graphic design course. Our theme for five months is the Nature Conservancy at www.nature.org. So far, we've only completed one project, but I'm very excited about my work. The more and more I work at it, the less doubts I have about whether I have what it takes to be a graphic designer. It's only been a month, but I love my design class and all my classmates!

Handcrafted by Me

Over the years, I've taken one ceramics class, completed a tiny segment on ceramics in my crafts class, AND been to Petrogylph once.

These are the fruits of my labor! ...or some of them at least.

removable top!
Petroglyph Cupcake

This one came premade, I just painted it.

The rest, which you can probably tell by the lumpy dimples, were handmade by me.

Gnome

I used kids clay for this one, so it can't actually be glazed. Paint only, however it remains unpainted.
I don't know...paint just seems like a strange idea for ceramics...
outcome does not look good.

Beginning Drawing

The last post was about my Design work, this post is about my Drawing work. I took Beginning Drawing last quarter, which I must say I did NOT like because of the instructor, the assignments, the "mood" music (elevator rendition of Hotel California anyone?), and even little things down to the uncomfortable benches. Despite my dislike for the course however, some of the work is still blog worthy, and so I BLOG!

QUESTION: What do u guys think about the separated posts? It looks a little messier, but allows comments on individual pieces. Maybe not for all posts, but I think it might help to organize it into series of photos. Yes, no?

Grid Picture: Use a grid to duplicate half of a photo for a seamlessly complete image.
